Horse owners are being encouraged to take a closer look at how the stable environment can affect equine health and wellbeing as part of a new educational campaign running throughout September.
The Back to School with Bedmax campaign aims to increase awareness of horse health and hygiene in the stable, covering some of the everyday factors that can influence respiratory health and general wellbeing.
As part of the campaign, Bedmax has produced a new educational article exploring subjects including stable air quality, respirable dust, bedding, forage, ventilation and ammonia.
Horse owners can then put what they have learned to the test with a short, 10-question multiple-choice quiz.
Stable air quality can be influenced by a number of factors, including the choice and management of bedding and forage, ventilation and the build-up of contaminants such as dust and ammonia. The campaign is designed to encourage owners to think about these factors collectively and consider the impact that day-to-day stable management can have on their horses.
There is also an added incentive to take part. Everyone who completes the quiz will receive a small free gift and will automatically be entered into a September prize draw.
Four winners will each receive 10 bales of their preferred Bedmax bedding.
The Back to School with Bedmax campaign and quiz will run until 30 September 2026.
Horse owners can read the educational article and take the quiz on the Bedmax website.
Terms and conditions apply to the prize draw. Find out more on the BedMax website here.
