Dr Gillian Tabor is a Chartered Physiotherapist who has been working as an ACPAT Veterinary Physiotherapist for 20 years. After adding teaching to her CV at Duchy College in Cornwall she joined Hartpury University in 2013, where she is now a Senior Lecturer the Programme Manager for the MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy course.

In 2020 Gillian completed her doctorate, the first for Hartpury, entitled ‘The use of objective measurement in Veterinary Physiotherapy’. As well as teaching students, Gillian continues to undertake research in this thematic area both in her own equine projects and via supervising students.

With experience in treating all types of horses, Gillian uses her physiotherapy skills, in combination with knowledge of biomechanics, behaviour and training. Physiotherapy integrates hands-on treatments, with electrotherapy and exercise, specifically selected to improve your horse’s posture, performance, balance and strength.

When not at Hartpury Gillian runs her own practice in Devon, which focuses on the treatment and rehabilitation of competition horses. Outside of work she spends time with her Lusitanos, is a pony club mum, has a dog, two cats, a rabbit and a husband to keep her busy!
