The FEI is reminding veterinarians to use the FEI HorseApp to record equine influenza vaccinations for FEI-registered horses.
Since the start of 2025, it has been a requirement under Article 1002 of the FEI Veterinary Regulations to enter vaccination details digitally using the HorseApp. This system will be strictly enforced from 1 January 2026, so all veterinarians are encouraged to ensure they are using it correctly ahead of the deadline.
Why register vaccinations through the FEI HorseApp?
- Ensures full compliance with FEI Veterinary Regulations
- Speeds up veterinary checks at FEI Events, including Examination on Arrival
- Improves traceability and accuracy of vaccination records
- Supports higher biosecurity and welfare standards across equestrian sport
The FEI also highlights that the HorseApp can be used without an internet connection and that draft entries can be saved and submitted later.
During this transition period, the horse’s passport remains the official record of vaccination details, and participation at FEI Events will not yet be affected by missing or incorrect HorseApp data.
