Animalweb has announced an exciting new free online event designed to tackle one of the most important and often misunderstood topics in the equestrian world, safety.
Taking place on 13th and 14th April 2026, the Animalweb Spring Horse and Rider Safety Series will bring together leading experts to explore the real risks facing both horse and rider, and what can be done to reduce them.
From rider falls to protective equipment, horse injuries and everyday management risks, the two-evening series promises a powerful mix of the latest research and practical, real-world advice.
The event is delivered in partnership with Evoke, with support from Equilibrium and Cryochaps, bringing together science, industry expertise and hands-on experience.
Across the two evenings, attendees will hear from a standout line-up of speakers, including Dr David Marlin, Helen Riley, Professor Jane Williams, Dr Heather Cameron-Whytock, Carmen Cummiskey, Hannah Donnelly, Tricia Palmer, Dr Katie Williams and other prominent industry experts.
The first evening will focus on rider safety, tackling key questions around why falls happen, how serious injuries really are, and how protective equipment such as body protectors, air jackets, helmets and safety stirrups actually make a difference.
The second evening turns to horse safety, exploring how and why horses fall, common causes of injury, and the risks associated with everyday management, including headcollars, boots and feeding.
Each session will conclude with a live panel Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to put their questions directly to the experts.
With increasing attention on welfare, risk management and evidence-based practice across the equestrian sector, this series aims to cut through opinion and provide clear, practical insights that riders and horse owners can apply immediately.
Thank you for the support from Evoke, Equilibrium and Cryochaps. The event is completely free to attend, making expert knowledge accessible to as many people as possible.
