Emmie Tice and Bluebarn Hector received an Animalweb Good Horsemanship Award at the Cooke Coachbuilders Carnival of Dressage.
At the show, riders perform the same test across two days, with their scores combined to determine the final result. Emmie and Hector achieved a fantastic score on the first day, leaving them with everything to play for in the championship.
However, Hector was unsettled during their second test. Emmie responded with calm, patient and sympathetic riding, encouraging him forward and helping him regain his confidence. Rather than becoming upset about the effect on their championship result, she remained focused on supporting her pony.
Emmie demonstrated maturity and horsemanship beyond her years. It was a lovely partnership to watch and a thoroughly deserved award. Well done, Emmie!
